Ashton, peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, March 13, 2007. Harold Ashton of St. Thomas and formerly Yarmouth Township in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Marion (Harvey) Ashton. Dear father of Gary Ashton and wife Carol of St. Thomas, Norma Helkaa and husband Alvin of R.R.#7, Aylmer, Karen Ashton of St. Thomas and Charlene Ashton of St. Thomas. Also survived by a brother Harley Ashton and wife Kay, a sister Muriel Mercer and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. Born in Malahide Township on May 31, 1918 son of the late Murray and Adra (Wilcox) Ashton. Harold was an electrical contractor, a member of New Sarum Baptist Church and an lay minister at Jaffa Baptist Church. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Wednesday 7-9 and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 where the funeral service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2007 at 11:00 am. Interment, Orwell Cemetery.
