Jones, Rev. Norman Edmund went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 in his 94th year. He was predeceased by his dear wife Brenice(1985). He is survived by his beloved wife Tiena, his children Rhian(Eric) and Gareth(Peggy), and grandchildren Morgan(Chelsea) and Dylan(Larissa) Husty, and Frances, Katie and Aidan Jones. His step-daughters Lisa and Kari(Ken) and much loved by his step-grandchildren Ryan, Allison(Chris), Kirsten(Drew), Emily(Makenly) and Ethan. He also had two great-granddaughters Victoria Belle and Juniper(June) Jones Husty. He is also survived by his brother Tecwyn(late Ceinwen) in Wales and their children, Llinos(Aled), Meleri(Geriant) and his daughter-in-law Sian(late Gethin). Also several nieces and nephews in Wales.

He was born on January 25, 1931, in Llanbedrog, North Wales. He graduated from the University of Wales and later the University of Toronto. He was ordained to the ministry of The Calvinistic Methodist Church of Wales in 1956 where he served two congregations in Maesteg, in a coal mining valley in South Wales(1956-61). Then to Barmouth, a seaside resort town in North Wales(1961-65).

In 1965, he and Bren and children immigrated to Canada where he was received into the United Church of Canada. He served in Straffordville United Church and Rowntree Memorial U.C. in London before moving to St. Paul’s United Church in Aylmer in 1970. There he ministered for the next 27 years. Following his retirement in 2003, he was installed as a minister in the Christian Reformed Church. For the next 20 years, he preached in many CRC congregations throughout southwestern Ontario.

He and Tiena travelled far and wide in North America, Europe and the Caribbean. He is known for his sense of humour but mostly for his dedicated preaching of the Gospel of his Lord and Master to whom he dedicated his whole life. “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
