Obituary of Doreen Ward

Ward, Marilyn Doreen formerly of Summers Corners (late of Caressant Care, Courtland) died unexpectedly yet peacefully at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Saturday, September 21, 2024 in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Jim Ward (2020). Dear sister of Phyllis Howey (late Gerald), Harold Brown (Shirley), Fred Brown (Cathy) and Sharon Brown. Sister-in-law of Ron Ward (late Leona) and Lorraine Rath. Cherished aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Bonnie Holmes and brother Don Brown (late Ella Mae). Born in Tillsonburg, Ontario on May 16, 1941, daughter of the late Leslie and Evelyn (Clarke) Brown. She was raised on the family farm on Concession 9 (College Line).  Doreen and Jim were married on October 7, 1961 and enjoyed 58 years of marriage. Doreen worked in tobacco on the Brower farm for over 35 years and cleaned houses. She spent many hours at various coffee shops around Aylmer with Jim and their friends. She loved her gardens and her cats but most of all her family.

Visitation will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 6-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Officiant: Rev. Dr. Chris W. Crocker.
