I remember Guido well from when my family moved to Aylmer in 1968. We were grade 11 classmates at East Elgin. Guido stood out to me because of his height (6’4”), his quiet intelligence, and because he had a motorcycle. He was a mechanical wizard and I remember how horrified I was to see his Triumph motorcycle completely disassembled and covering his parent’s basement floor. He patiently put it all back together, polished and fine tuned. It did not surprise me when later Guido excelled in his mechanical engineering studies at UWO. He was a good friend for many years, unfailingly trustworthy and loyal. He was happiest solving problems and helping others. His generosity and spirit enriched our lives and he will be deeply missed.
