Obituary of Bill Helps

Helps, Bill at Elmira on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. William "Bill" Helps of Elmira and formerly Aylmer in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Maureen (Fitzhenry) Helps (2003). Dear father of Ellen Helps and son-in-law Ken Harkes of Ariss and John Helps and husband Joe Rhodes of Ottawa. Brother of Pat Helps of Etobicoke and Marilyn Steeves and husband Neil of Oakville, Also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and his special friend Gracie. Born in Fort William, Ontario on June 8, 1927 son of the late Rev. Frederick John and Ada Ellen (Hall) Helps. Bill a member of the Aylmer Baptist Church retired in 1986 as head of the science department at East Elgin Secondary School. He sang in the Aylmer Community Choir and volunteered at the Aylmer Museum and The Aylmer Corner Cupboard. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Aylmer Baptist Church on Saturday December 31, 2011 at 1:00 pm. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Cam Watts, officiating.
