Todd and Tim
We are sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad. Don was a great man that always opened his house when we were younger and always made us feel comfortable. Our thoughts are with both of you and your families.

I am so sorry for your loss. Don and his family were our neighbours when I was little. I have so many memories. I remember as a little girl selling him pine cones. He will always hold a place in my heart.

Smitty joined us for a party when my parents came to Thorndale! It was always such a joy to have him around!
My Dad Mac, had these photos on his phone, we wanted to share them with you.

Todd, Tim, and families,
We were sorry to hear about Don's passing. As you know, our families have known each other for many years and for a few years lived beside each other on John Street South. Your Dad and Ted had many interesting chats over the years. Don coached Ross' hockey team for a few years, and when Dave and Todd were in the band together, Don and Bonnie endured many loud practice sessions in the basement of their home on St. George Street.
Don will be missed.

Don loved life and people. He could talk to anyone he met. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always up for an adventure. He was a man that would help anyone. The type of person that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it more.
I had so many adventures with him. So many wonderful memories. So very glad that he was a big part of my life

I worked with Bonnie for years at the old 'Aylmer Nursing Home" and got to know Don through Bonnie. I remember the care he gave to her after her strokes and what a wonderful husband he was to Bonnie and father to his sons. He will be missed by all who knew him.

From the time I was little, my siblings and I would ask my Dad (Mac) to “tell us a story from when you were a little boy” and would insist on the retelling of stories from the hilarity that he and his friends ‘The Boys’ got into and, while each of the tellings over the years remained the same - they somehow got funnier and funnier. What amazed me was that they all managed to survive!
Smitty was apart of a gang of 5 main friends my father had, their friendship spanned decades. Over the years, one by one they left us and, while I knew there was sadness - there was also joy in the retelling of the stories.
Don Smith was kind, caring and thoughtful. I am grateful for the time I got to spend with him and the joy he brought to every occasion. He will be missed.
Sending prayers of peace to his family and friends. ~ Barbara Jeanne Harrison

Scotty, Smitty, Slimey, Sleep and yours truly, "The Boys" since 1956. Laughed together, played together, worked together. Then time happened. Marriage and careers took us in separate directions but we managed to touch base every now and then.
Scotty left too soon but retirement brought the survivors together to laugh, play and tell lies about how good we were.
Then time happened again, Sleep left, Smitty left and now there are two. We two will get together and we will remember them!
Condolences to all the friends and family - Mac
