Obituary of Julius Kesteloot

Julius John Kesteloot of Fredericton, New Brunswick formerly of Aylmer, Ontario, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday March 22, 2024, in his 91st year.

Beloved husband of Mary (Moerman) Kesteloot for 63 years.  Dear father of Ron Kesteloot of Aylmer and Linda Killough (Len) of Fredericton, NB. Proud and loving grandfather of Cameron Killough (Jenna), Keegan Kesteloot (Catherine) and Cole Kesteloot (Tina).  Great-grandfather of Lennon Killough. Brother of Christine Van Bree and brother-in law of Simone Vandenbilcke, Madeline Verstraeten and Margeret Mezenberg. He will be missed by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother John Kesteloot, sister Dianne Kesteloot, daughter-in-law Marsha Geling, brothers-in-law Harry Moerman, Roger Moerman and Andrew Moerman.

Julius was born in Sint Eloois Winkel, Belgium on April 13, 1933, son of the late Odiel and Maria (Caenepeel) Kesteloot. Julius immigrated to Canada in 1947.   He was a millwright at Aylmer Toolcraft for 32 years.  He loved to be busy, always quick to jump in and lend a hand with any project.   He enjoyed woodworking, especially building bird houses in many shapes and sizes.  In retirement, he enjoyed camping and being a part of the Tri County Travellers.

A visitation will be held at H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 2 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church, Aylmer on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Aylmer.  Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Fanshawe College Foundation – Skilled Trades would be appreciated.
