Obituary of Jiggs Morse
Wilson Eugene (Jiggs) Morse of Tillsonburg, passed away on Friday, February 16th, 2024 in his 95th year. He is predeceased by his wife Joy (January 2023) after 73 years together. Loved by daughters, Judy Lewis (Charlie) of St Thomas, Nancy Myshrall (Orlo) of Minto NB, Jane Winkworth of Delhi, Marg Van Loy (Victor) of Eden; sons, Bill Morse of Tillsonburg and Ron Morse (Laila) of Haliburton. He was much loved by his grandchildren Karen Hurley (Mike), Kelly Goodhue (Gary), Shannon Tinline (Brad), Mike Minor (Lee Ann), Vanessa Love (Troy), Julia Van Loy (Rodney), Willy Morse, Adam Morse (Vanessa), Courtney Partlo-Morse (Scott), Anne-Marie Morse (Cory), Doug Morse and Daniel Morse. His great-grandchildren Nick and Chantal, Carly and Matthew, Clair, Will, Raymond, Ava, Jace, Connor, Jack, Jarrett, Samantha, Lucas, Ryan, Gavin, and Ruby. His great-great-grandchildren Jax and Ira. Jiggs is also survived by his sisters, Madeline Dreher of Hamilton and Olive Grass of Aylmer. Predeceased by brother Leo (Harv) Morse and his grandson Andrew Morse. He was the youngest child of the late Bruce and Ida (Cartwright) Morse of Richmond. Dad always supported his family with encouragement and wisdom. Jiggs worked for the Department of Highways at the Tillsonburg detachment for 35 years, retiring as Supervisor. He and Joy purchased and ran the North Hall Snack Bar for a number of years before moving down the road to enjoy their retirement. They spent time travelling, especially around North Bay, fishing and hunting. Jiggs spent his days cutting wood and repairing lawn mowers, both making him some pocket change for perch dinners at the Mill and ice cream. He always enjoyed going for a drive just to see what had changed since the last trip. Special thanks to 2nd floor nursing staff at Tillsonburg Hospital for their care. Visitation will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 6-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Donations to Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital Foundation or Shriners Hospital Montreal would be appreciated.
