Obituary of Verne Melville

Melville, Verne David of Aylmer passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, January 11, 2024 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of the late Yvonne(Sloat) Melville(1980) and the late Helen(Stafford) Melville(2021). Dear father of Deb Pressey(late Randy) and Wendy Hill(Doug). Loving grandfather of Kevin, David(Kristin) and Cheryl(Drew) and great-grandfather of Austin, Trinity, Ethan, Nick, Josh, Mason and Olivia. Brother of Dolores Winter, Faye Jarvis and Jim Melville(Barb). Step-father of David Learn(Cathy) and step-father-in-law of Wayne Lewis(late Linda). He will be missed by a number of step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son-in-law Jeff Bossuyt, and sisters Joan Burke, Mabel Assel and by brothers Doug Melville, Bill Melville and George Melville. Born in Simcoe, Ontario on November 16, 1936, son of the late George and Violet Melville. Retired from Ford Talbotville after 30 years of service. Verne enjoyed golf, horseshoes and was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He always looked forward to his Friday morning tea with his buddies Ron and Frank. Cremation has taken place.
