Obituary of John Fehr

Fehr, John of Aylmer passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, September 22, 2023 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of 55 years to Nancy(Krahn) Fehr. Dear father of Anne Begley of London and Lisa Toenders(Jason) of Camlachie. Loving grandfather of Sullivan and Levi. Brother of Peter Fehr(Anna), Isaak Fehr(Helena), Jacob Fehr(Josephine), Justina Voth(John), Tina Hiebert(Edward), Agatha Thiessen(Peter), Sara Klassen(Abram), Abram Fehr, Helena Banman(Cornelius) and Elisabeth Wall(Cornelius).  Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Born in Chihuahua, Mexico on October 24, 1938, son of the late Peter and Agatha(Epp) Fehr. John worked in farming in Mexico and for many years more after coming to Canada. He also enjoyed his work at Elgin Handles in St Thomas for several years until he retired. He could usually be found tinkering in his garage, doing metal work and fixing cars. He enjoyed baking pies and cookies, and making borscht and chicken noodle soup. He was the family handyman, always fixing something. His greatest joy came from his family, especially his grandsons. Visitation will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
