Obituary of Ted Cole
In his 101st year, Edward “Ted” Cole died peacefully on September 4,2023.
Ted was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Nora Cole, his brother and sister-in-law, Charles “Bill” and Doris Cole, sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Donald Scott; his nephews, Ronald Scott (Maureen), Larry Scott (Veronica, deceased) and Paul Cole; his great-nephew Brian Scott. Ted is survived by his nieces, Pat Pfingstgraef (Mike, deceased) and Sandra Whitesell (Ron, deceased) ; great nieces, Michele Toth and Deborah Scott; great nephews, Mike Pfingstgraef, Darren Scott and Sean Scott; great-great nieces, Juliane Toth, Rachel McLean and Kate Scott and great- great nephews, Alex Toth, Justin Scott and Ronan McLean.
Ted was the last remaining member of the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion who jumped beyond the Rhine River in 1945 in World War II.
Ted had many good friends during his lifetime. Special and deep thanks to Jerry Berkelmans, Ted’s buddy, and, in Ted’s last few months, his caregiver.
