Steele, Ruth of St. Thomas and formerly of Aylmer, passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, September 3, 2023, in her 89th year. Dear wife of Eric Steele. Loving mother of Bob Steele(Karen Van Pelt) of St. Thomas, Kathy Learn(Dave) of Aylmer, Joe Steele of Lyons and Aileen Valiquette(Gord) of Orillia. Grandmother of Shawn Pearson, Chloe Jimenez and Taylor Brown. Great-grandmother of Oliver Jimenez. Survived by her sister Betty Lindsay(Don). Predeceased by a brother Jim Hagell. Born on September 18, 1934, daughter to the late Alonzo and Merle(Jenereaul) Hagell. Ruth worked at Durkee’s for over 25 years. At Ruth’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Donations to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
