Obituary of Shirley Carroll
Carroll, Shirley of Aylmer passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, August 4, 2023 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Scott Carroll(2012). Dear mother of Becky Piccinin(George) of Belmont, Cherie Hall(Duncan) of Port Bruce, Kelly Luciani(Pete) of Tillsonburg and Tim Carroll(Agnes) of Barry’s Bay. Loving grandmother of Chris Hampton(Tanya), Kim Ladell(Jeff), Mathew Ward(Laura), Kirk Walcarius(Ang), Kate Walcarius-Shoup(Dan), Jodie Botzang(Greg), Ryan Carroll(Stacey) and Makenzie Carroll(Kyle). She will be missed by her sister Margaret Fleming and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother William Broad and sister Doris Haley. Born in Tillsonburg, Ontario on November 3, 1930, daughter of the late Fred and Alice(Bell) Broad. Shirley grew up on the farm in Springford and later moved to Aylmer in 1967. Together with Scott, they enjoyed many RV adventures across North America. But it was Shirley’s kindness and nurturing nature that truly made a difference. As a resident of Terrace Lodge, Shirley touched many lives, bringing comfort and care to those she met. As per Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation-burial, Norwich Village Cemetery. Donations would be appreciated to Comforts of Home-Terrace Lodge fund(County of Elgin).
