Shackelton, peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, October 1, 2006. Carmen Ray Shackelton of St. Thomas in his 92nd year.
Beloved husband of Shirley (Smith) Shackelton. Dear father of Joan Lidster of London, Darlene and husband Eric McKenzie of Victoria B.C., Sandra Vanduinkerken and husband John of Cavendish, P.E.I., Janet and husband John York of Cambridge , Ivan Shackelton and wife Mable of Simcoe, Larry Shackelton and wife Mary Louise of Windsor, David Shackelton and wife Janet of Harrow, Paul Shackelton and wife Anne Marie of Elliot Lake and Gregory Shackelton and wife Brenda of Windsor. Brother of Kenneth Shackelton and wife Leone of Springfield, Leslie Shackelton of R.R.# 1, Springfield and the late Vera Parsons. There are 26 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a daughter Doreen Hampson and an infant son Robert �Bobby� Shackelton. Born in South Dorchester Twp on July 6, 1915 son of the late John and Bertha (McIntyre) Shackelton. Carmen was a retired farmer and heavy equipment operator. In 1971 he moved from the Aylmer area to Iron Bridge and returned to this area in 1991. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Monday 7-9 p.m. & Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 11:00 am. Interment, Springfield Cemetery.
