Obituary of Otto Zondag

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  (Psalm 27:13 NKJV)

Otto Zondag, of Springfield, passed peacefully into his eternal rest on Wednesday April 12, 2023. Otto was born on April 3rd, 1945 in Buurmalsem, the Netherlands. He married Alie Donk in 1969 and they were blessed with six sons and three daughters. In 1988 they sold their farm in the Netherlands and immigrated to Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada where they farmed another dairy operation.
From a young age, Otto had a natural aptitude and love for farming, especially dairy cows.  While he was capable of all aspects of farming, including field work, he was happiest in the barn.  In the summer months, if he wasn't in the barn he could be found in the gardens. Many hours were spent preparing, planting and weeding the vegetable garden which provided abundant food for his family.
Otto is survived by his wife Alie and children:  Adrian & Laura (Emily & fiance Griffin), Peter,  John, William & Sara (Anna, Micah), Wilma, Theo, Tony & Lindsay (Elizabeth, Benjamin, Madeline, Alexander), Greta & James Robertson (Allyson, Joey, Alexa, Ava) and Jenny & Dietrich DeKruyff (Bryce, Zander, Adalie, Ezra).  
Otto was a member of the St Thomas Free Reformed Church and faithfully served the Lord.
The funeral service will be held on Friday April 14 at 11:30 am at the Free Reformed Church of St Thomas. A private burial will take place prior to the service. In lieu of visitation, a card, visit or call would be appreciated. Share memories or condolences at kebbelfuneralhome.com
