Obituary of Joy Marie Morse

Morse, Joy Marie of Tillsonburg, passed away peacefully, at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 22, 2023, in her 92nd year. Loving wife of Wilson Eugene “Jiggs” Morse. Dear and loving mother of Judy Lewis(Charlie) of St. Thomas, Bill Morse of Tillsonburg, Ron Morse(Laila) of Haliburton, Nancy Myshrall(Orlo) of Minto, NB., Jane Winkworth of Simcoe and Margaret Van Loy(Victor) of Eden. Grandmother of Karen Hurley(Mike), Kelly Goodhue(Gary), Willy Morse, Adam Morse(Vanessa), Courtney Partlo-Morse(Scott), Anne-Marie Morse(Cory), Doug Morse, Daniel Morse(Ashley), Shannon Tinline(Brad), Michael Minor(Lee Ann), Vanessa Love(Troy), Julia Van Loy(Rodney). Great-grandmother of Charlie, Nicholas and Chantal, Carly and Matthew, Jack, Jarret, Samantha, Lucas, Ryan, Gavin, Ruby, Clair, Will, Raymond, Ava, Jace and Connor. Great-great-grandmother of Jax and Ira. She will be missed by her sister Ferne Nevill(Donald), sisters-in-law Madeline Dreher and Olive Grass, along with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters Doris Sparkman, Dorothy Boyd, Jean Foutre and Betty Buchanan and brothers John, George, Charles and Don Grass and brother-in-law Leo Morse. Also, predeceased by her grandson Andrew Morse. Born in Houghton, Ontario on September 14, 1931, daughter of the late William and Pearl(Bastien) Grass. Joy loved nothing better than to be surrounded by her family. Hard work, with a lot of fun mixed in, filled her days running North Hall Snack Bar with Dad. Some say she made the best cheeseburgers and shakes around. She was a supervisor on the lunch counter at Woolworth’s, a secretary, and ran the café at the Tillsonburg Community Complex. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking, making the best butter tarts by far, gardening, long walks, travelling and camping in her retirement years. It seemed our door was always open with Mom lending a hand and an ear to anyone who needed. Most of all she loved her grandbabies who always brought her so much joy. Mom, we will always love you and cherish the time we had with you, creating wonderful memories. Thank you to Tillsonburg Retirement Residence staff for taking good care of Mom and also to Dr. Holowachuk, along with Dr. Ijaz and 2nd floor nursing staff at TDMH showing care and compassion at a difficult time. Special thankyou to Kelly and Cheryl for all their caring support during Mom’s journey. A private family graveside service will be held in the spring. Donations to the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Share memories or condolences at kebbelfuneralhome.com
