Obituary of Joanne Sleegers

Sleegers, Joanne Osiena (Jansen)

It is with great sadness that we are announcing the sudden passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great friend to all Joanne Osiena Sleegers, Sunday, December 11, 2022 at University Hospital with immediate family by her side. She was born in London Ontario on June 1, 1953 and is survived by her husband of 50 years Louis Sleegers, daughter Sandie Vleeming (Herb), sons Andrew Sleegers (Leah), Tim Sleegers (Heather) and Bill Sleegers (Kari), Grandchildren Travis (Kennedy), Nicolas, Adam (Brandi), Jenna, Megan, Andrea, Noah, Braden, Amelia, Allison, Ashley great grandchildren Leni and Karter who all loved her. Sister of Hermina and Jack, Mike and Cathy, Mary and Cecil and Alice and Dale. Sister-in-law to Sue, Mary, Bill and Irma, Dorothy, Annette, Harry and Anna Marie, Gerry, Jackie and Mike. Predeceased her brother Bill, brothers-in-law Peter, Tony, John, Al, Joe and sister-in-law Inez and a niece, Jennifer and nephew Gary. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Joanne was very strong in her faith and has a great friend group that will miss their time with her as well. Joanne was a stay at home mom most of her life raising four children but also worked at Our Lady of Sorrows Church as Youth Minister and then cleaning the rectory. If you ever needed to talk to her you could find her at the church. She has made a lot of close friends along the way. Joanne will be missed by the camping group which were very close to her heart. Visitation at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows R. C. Church on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 10:00 am.
