Simpson, James Ray “Jim” of Belmont passed away peacefully with family by his side at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, December 10, 2022 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of 65 years to Betty(Zavitz) Simpson. Loving father of Marvin(Cathy) of Belmont, Ruthann Waldick(Todd) of Belmont, Mary-Jo Walker(Brad) of Belmont and Steven(Mary Margaret) of Belmont. Specially loved poppa of Shane(Kristine), Blair(Vanessa), Emily, Aileen, Reed, Breanna(Jake), Adam, Spencer, Jeremy and Sarah. Great-grandfather of Kya. Predeceased by his daughter Valerie(1959), grandson Ethan(2001), great granddaughter Avery(2021)  and sister Marion Coleman. He will be missed by his sister Betty Smith of Dorchester and a number of nieces and nephews.  Born in Kingsmill, Ontario on October 4, 1934, son of the late Harry and Edith(Helka) Simpson. Jim was owner and operator of Emery Electric for many years. He loved to coach hockey, including many Ontario championship teams; he was a coach in Belmont of the  Midgets, Juveniles and Jr. D, St. Thomas Colonels, the Aylmer Aces and the St. Marys Lincolns. Jim was inducted into the Dresden Hockey Hall of Fame. Visitation will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, December 15  at 11 a.m. Cremation with family burial at Dorchester Cemetery.
