Obituary of Anttionete DeLeemans
It is with sadness but much love that we share that Anttionete DeLeemans passed away on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022. Anttionete did it her way, at home in St. Thomas ON, surrounded by her family, at the age of 89 years young. Anttionete Simone DeLeemans was born September 12, 1933, the youngest of 2 daughters to Maurice and Julia VanHalewyn, sister Erna Taelman. She was an amazing mother to four children: Larry(Jenny) DeLeemans, Dave DeLeemans, Mark(Tammy Helkaa-Mitchell) DeLeemans, and Lisa(Doug Newell) DeLeemans. Grandmother to six grandchildren: Sandy(Ryan) Lale, Julie DeLeemans, Robin(Jordan) DeLeemans-Willsey, Nathan DeLeemans, Connor(Kendra) Remillard, Troy Remillard and four great-grandchildren; Mathew Sprague, Tyler(Kendra Reaume) Lale, Kolton DeLeemans and Sophie Remillard. Anttionete came from Belgium to Canada at the age of 3 years old with her parents who were tobacco farmers. She spent her life in many different jobs such as a tobacco farmer, factory worker at Imperial Tobacco in Aylmer and managed a re-cycling plastics company in Toronto. She learned to drive tractors by the age of 8, and went on to drive combines and transport trucks. Her vehicle of choice would be her beautiful Ford Taurus. She loved socializing with friends and family, had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor and a certain energy about her. She was beautiful outside and inside, with a great attitude towards life. One of her favorite things to do would be getting dressed up to the 9’s and dancing the night away. She was a strong advocate to her family and friends. The one you would call to hear her supportive voice, loving words and great advice. Anttionete DeLeemans was an amazing woman, friend, mom, gramma and her family are proud and honored to have shared in her light. As she would have said, “Que Sera, Sera, whatever will be… will be”. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation at H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home - 119 Talbot St Aylmer on Friday, October 14th, 2022 between 5:00 – 8:00pm. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 15th, 2022 at 10:00 am. Interment, Queen of Peace Cemetery - 8319 Imperial Rd, Aylmer.
