Obituary of Maria Dyck
Our mother’s favourite Bible verse was John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, so whomever should believe though they die should not perish but have everlasting life." She is embodiment of these very words, believing unto her very last in the goodness and mercy of the Lord. She faithfully read her Bible until her eyes gave out and continued listening to the bible on CD thereafter.
She was known and loved for the many great foods she made and served to those she cared so deeply for. Our mother was born March 11, 1953 to her parents, David and Maria Klassen. Her siblings include John, Jake, Anna, Julius, and Elizabeth. She married Jacob Dyck 49 years ago on July 8th. They went on to have 6 children; David, Helena, Neil, Liz, Mary, and Eva. Numerous grandchildren would follow. Maria is predeceased by her parents and brother, Jake.
Our mother is a shining example of forgiveness as she lived an extraordinarily poor and hard childhood, but did not grow up bitter. She believed it was indeed true to forgive and forget the wrong of others in order to have personal peace and be forgiven themselves. She worked hard daily to keep a clean home and have food on the table. She instilled in her children a love of reading and learning as she had also learned from her father, a teacher, when she was younger.
The Bible talks about the highest value of a good woman and wife and our mother was a deep purple cloth of brilliant and shining love and honour unto the Lord and those who loved her. May she walk in peace with the Lord until such a day as we all get to join her in glory.
