My condolences to Maria’s family. I worked with Maria for many years at CPRI while she worked in Clinical Records there as our work spaces were in the lovely garden level of the building. She quietly and steadily completed her work and was always willing to stop what she was in the middle of to help clinicians with what they needed. She was there with her quiet smile. You are in my thoughts.

I met Maria when I first moved to London to work at the Jail. She was hands down one of the quirkiest people I have ever met. We instantly bonded over our crazy love of cats. I didn't know a soul in London, but she quickly welcomed me as a dear friend. She invited me out to various activities with her and her friends, to make me feel welcome. She was sincerely one of the nicest people I have ever met. She would randomly surprise me with cat-shaped office items just to cheer me up or to see me smile. She always called me the prettiest flower in the garden, and I will forever hold those moments close to me. I miss you, Maria. I can guarantee that all of my kitties up in heaven came running to you, to say hello when you arrived, to show you as much kindness as you have shown me throughout the years. Rest Easy fellow Crazy Cat Lady... xoxo

I have lost another person who holds a special place in my heart our friendship is a treasure I will always treasure.
She was a bright light in many eyes, dancing to her own drum. Contributing to many charities, fundraising on her own. Even dying her hair cobalt blue for an awareness campaign.
She had a love of scrapbooking, photography, music, and singing in her church choir.
She was a leader for Scouts Canada for several years even after her son, Steven, aged out.
She has come to my aid many times, especially when it was time to move my mom to London from Brantford.
The pandemic has not been kind to many but I feel that Maria felt it more than most.
I missed you long before your passing.
May you rest in peace now.

Dear Steven, Mrs.Sutkaitis, Zita, Jacey and Jaclyn, Richard and Raymond, Mike and the whole of the Guest family,
I'm shocked and profoundly saddened by Maria's unexpected passing. I met Maria in my early 20s and was in regular contact with her until about 15 years ago. She was a loyal and loving friend. We laughed and cried together. I carry with me very warm memories of Maria during her happy times.
Maria had a heart of gold and a loving soul. She would give beyond what she had to give whether through physical items, her volunteer work in scouting, or her most compassionate gestures. When I lost my hair due to chemotherapy, Maria shaved her head to make me feel that I wasn't alone, despite not having seen me for several years. She was curious, adventurous, and a good friend to many. Maria had the most beautiful penmanship, was a gifted scrapbooker, photographer, and maker of Lithuanian kugela. Maria spoke at least four languages of which I'm aware: Lithuanian, English, Spanish, and French.
I have many memories of camping with her and Mike and will never forget her falling asleep during the World Series winning game for the Toronto Blue Jays despite her saying she'd stay awake until the end of the game! I remember her attending the Hootie and the Blowfish concert in Toronto with front row seats and me needing to have her stop and let me drive back to London because, again, she was falling asleep! We enjoyed theatre together and I recall driving home with a snoring passenger beside me from the Huron County Playhouse. May her final sleep be peaceful. Vaya con Dios, amiga mia. Que te encuentras paz.

Deepest condolences to Maria’s family and friends on her passing. I knew Maria throughout our years together at EESS. We sat near each other in many classes including band and a Quintet. She was such a talented bassoonist as well as having an infectious sense of humour. We often sat beside each other in band and laughed till the tears rolled down our faces. After highschool we lost track of each other but reconnected a few years ago in London. What a joyous reunion we had!!! We’d spend hours sitting on my front porch munching on my husband Gary’s homemade gingersnaps and getting caught up on each other’s lives….and laughing. Did I mention the laughter?? Oh my goodness!!! Maria’s laughter and kindness will be the memory that I lock away safely in my heart forever. I will miss you so much, dear friend! Until we meet again,
Anita Borm (and Gary Dodd)

Maria was my good friend for many years. We worked together at CPRI in very different roles but met initially when she worked in the records department. She was known for her “be my guest” form she used to make the photocopying chore more fun. Later she was one of the first members of our Me and the Gang singing group. Through our Wellness Team she joined in fundraising for our annual holiday party for the children of our staff. One way to raise the cash was through our concerts in the chapel and she threw herself into the role feet ( and voice) first! I’m so sad to hear of her untimely death. I know I will miss her voice and her heart as it was a beautiful one.

News of Maria's passing comes as a shock.
I have vivid memories of Maria going back to when I first knew her in Irma Koleada's kindergarten class. She became a gifted oboeist who I enjoyed playing in a quintet with for five years beginning in grade 7. She was a spunky, confident and intelligent young woman all through high school. I have so many great memories of her and of shared adventures. Over the years following graduation I would see her from time to time and enjoyed getting caught up. I am saddened to know that I won't see her again in this world.
My condolences to Steven, mother Maria, sister Zita and the rest of her loved ones. May each of you experience God's peace and comfort during this time of grief.
