Obituary of Odette Geldhof

Geldhof, A funeral for Odette Marie Camille Geldhof, better known to all as Mama, formerly of 138 Sydenham St.E., Aylmer and a resident of Terrace Lodge in Aylmer will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2006. She died at the St.Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday July 21. Odette Geldhof was born in Paris, France on November 11, 1920, daughter of the late Honore Cnochaert and Marie Louise Tenaille Cnochaert. She was one nine children. She was predeceased by her husband Camiel C. Geldhof (1994) of fifty- four years. Three sisters Godelieve Marie Cnochaert (1932), Violette Denise Cnochaert (1959), Paulette Tenaille Vancoliie (1983) and two brothers Rene Cnochaert (1980) Andre Midard Cnochaert (1990). Also predeceased by a son Roger Geldhof (1940), a grandson David Geldhof (1976) of Mitchell, daughter-in-law Nelly (Lamers) Geldhof (1994) and a son-in-law Jean Marie Meseure (2002) of Port Burwell. Odette is survived by sisters Eugenie Cnochaert Vanrijckeghem of St.Thomas, Bertha Cnochaert Dewale of Izegem, Belgium in West Flanders, and Muguette Cnochaert Vandoorn of Roeseleare , Belgium in West Flanders. Brother-in-law Albrecht Geldhof of Kachte, Belgium in West Flanders. A brother of the heart Joezef and wife Paula Cnochaert of Straffordville. Cousins Bernard and Annette Tenaille and family of St.Hilaire Sue Erre, Paris France, Guy and Beatric Tenaille and family of Sucy En Brie, Paris France, Jaques and Lilane Tenaille and family of La Chasse, Paris France. Nephew Andre Cnochaert of Mitchell, Ontario and numerous nieces and nephews in Belgium and Paris France. Mrs Geldhof is survived by her five children Erica Rambout of Toronto, Roger Geldhof and friend Kay Vaughan of Aylmer, Sonja and husband Arthur Oslach of Aylmer, Jack Geldhof and wife Patty of Egmondville, Ontario, and Oda Meseure and family of Port Burwell. Loved by her 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Odette was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, Aylmer, the Catholic Women�s League, the Royal Canadian Legion Br # 524, Ladies Auxiliary in Port Burwell and she knitted for the Port Burwell legion christmas baskets. Friends may call at H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, 119 Talbot St. E. Aylmer on Monday 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. C.W.L. prayers 4:00 p.m. Monday. Parish prayers 8:00 p.m. Monday and a Legion Auxilliary Service 7:00 p.m. Monday. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church on Tuesday July 25 at 11:00 a.m with Fr.
