I am so sorry and sad to hear of Sue’s passing. I came to know Sue during my time at Elgin CAS. I was fortunate to work with her and was able to see her skills first hand.
Sue handled calls with skill, compassion, kindness and dedication. She was the person you wanted to take your call. Her understanding, sincerity and diligence allowed her to provide adoption information to those that needed it. She had seemingly endless energy at work and was looked up to by so many staff.
Sue shared with me that a fortune teller told her years ago that she would be surrounded by children. When she told me that story she smiled that Sue smile and we both chuckled. Through her various roles at FCAS Sue interacted and provided service to likely thousands of children and youth over her career.
thoughts and prayers to the family
So long my friend

To my Aunt Sue,
Where ever you are, I hope your proud of me. You were the best mother figure I ever needed in my life, you were always there for me when I needed, & never left my side. I’m not really sure how to live a life without you, but here we are. There will never be a day that goes by that I don’t miss you. I’ll love you forever.

I am shocked and sad to read about Sue’s passing. Sue worked years after official retirement, because she loved her job. I remember Sue from before becoming a colleague! It was at a children’s event, where she was making cotton candy for hundreds of kids, in a park on a hot day, with sweat running down her face, her long blond hair sticking to her head, but a big smile and kind words for everyone. As a colleague, she was a mentor and a friend, always with an open door and asking: “what can I do for you?” with her calm and kind and caring demeanor…ready to give full attention and listening! I will miss her and wished she could have enjoyed a long time of tending to her hobbies after such a long life of service to those in need. Sue, I will miss you as will many families whom you looked after. My heartfelt condolences to the family!
