I first met Neil at Timken in 1983. My association with Neil was that of a supplier/customer and from the outset, Neil's humility and his technical knowledge were truly impressive. I savored the business friendship which developed between Neil and me over the years. He was a true gem of a human being, and I consider myself blessed for having known Neil.
My condolences to Eva and family.

So many wonderful memories of a man who was so strongly devoted to his family. Each day to come will bring a smile as we all remember some part of our lives that were shared with Neil. For me, it will be exchanging coin collections and a special coin display made to display the Vancouver Winter Olympic coins. He was so talented and proud of the various woods he collected and turned to pens, baskets and other precious gifts. Our Olympic banter of medal tracking between the US and Canada will be a joyous memory forever. Neil and Eva were always such free adventurous spirits and Benny and I were happy to have shared many laughter filled times with them. Prayers, wishes of sympathies and love to Eva, Jacquie, and Ryan.
Peace be to him…may he live in God’s glory!

I am deeply sorry to hear that this dearly loved friend and colleague of the Timken Co. and beloved husband of Eva Harms has passed. I have many happy memories working with him as well. I especially enjoyed his wonderful sense of humour and his love for eternal values that we were both able to share together along the journey. Well done my brother in the Lord!
He will surely be missed by the family, relatives and friends. Yet he will be in the most beautiful place ever, with the Lord. My deepest condolences to all the Harms families and especially Eva, Jacqie and Ryan.

I worked with Neil at Timken for many years. Neil was a fountain of technical knowledge. He never guarded it, all you had to do was ask and he would freely share.
Neil was a humble, genuinely good guy that I was fortunate to meet and work with. We shared many laughs together.
My sincere condolences to the Harms family. God bless you and comfort you.

Our condolences to Neil’s family on the death of your husband, father and to his brothers on the loss of your youngest brother. Our memories go back to the years we used to sing in the choir together in our days as young people at Summers Corners EMMC! May you all find comfort in knowing he is with His Saviour and that Jesus will grant you strength and comfort as you depend on Him as needed in coming days! God bless you all!

We remember Neil (and Eva) fondly in the years they directed Freedom Session in their local church. What we saw in Neil was faith and a willingness to be used by God to bring hope and healing to others. In the era Neil was raised, there was a tendency to leave ministry to the pastors and elders so to serve at this capacity was not easy for Neil. Yet, by stepping out in faith, Neil met God in a new way.
In early 2021, Neil responded to an email I wrote him, thanking him for his support and encouragement. He replied: "Hi Ken. Thanks for the email. It sure is great to hear from you. I was really excited to hear that you and Bonnie were back full time with FS. I can honestly say the 5 years we were heading up FS in our church were some of the best years of my life."
He sent along the pictures we have posted above:
Thank you Neil for your example of faith and willingness to say "yes" to what God asked of you. Well done!

Our condolences to Eva, Jacqie and Ryan. Neil and I met and became lifelong friends before we became teenagers. Though I moved away some years later we always made sure, that whenever we were visiting aylmer, we would spend time together. Neil and I, together with Eva and Debbie, shared many good meals at a variety of great restaurants when we were out there. When I got to make it to aylmer the last time, a few months ago, we made sure to meet for coffee a few times. So glad we did. We will miss him greatly. Abe Peters.
