Barb and DJ, sending condolences your way. Had not seen your mom since I was a young'un but I fondly recall that she was kind, generous, patient (with all of us) and always smiling...forever young in my mind. I am sure your memories of her are a blessing.

Joe, I have a picture of us as really cool teenagers standing in front of the house on Sydenham. I keep track of you and your golfing escapades on FB with the Aylmer and Belmont boys. Best wishes to your family and thank you for your condolence. It means so much.

Among many other attributes, Pat was an incredible hostess. Our many concerts in Aylmer and London would have never been the same without the home away from home that this sweet woman made available to us - so many late nights full of laughter, cribbage and the occasional glass!
Thank you, Pat... thank you for being the protagonist of such a beautiful chapter in my life. Singing in Ontario will never feel the same again. Rest in peace, my friend!

I'm so sorry for your loss. Pat would often come into Scotiabank where I work. She always stopped to chat and say Hi to me, even if she wasn't banking. I enjoyed seeing her and her coffee club on the front porch. It was such a nice thing for her to do. She was also a valued member of the Aylmer Museum. Would often call or stop by just to say how much she enjoyed the latest newsletter. She will be greatly missed.

Dear Barbara, Sandra, DJ and Lisa,
We have known your mom since her marriage to your dad, Ralph, Uncle Glenn’s brother. The Johnston family shared many Christmas celebrations and rollicking picnics as we raised our families through the years. Your mom was always in the centre of the fun. She will be missed.
Love, Uncle Glenn, Aunt Nancy and family

Dear Barbara, Sandra, D.J. and Lisa,
It is with a great deal of sadness and feeling of loss that I am writing to express our deepest condolences on the loss of your mother. Pat was one great lady and Aylmer will never be the same without her. Other than the relationship fostered by attendance at each other's church functions I never really knew her until I was widowed thirteen years ago. Shortly thereafter I had the fortune to become a hanger-on at the ALBC coffee hours at Clarke's Restaurant. Although the "new kid on the block" I was made to feel like a welcome family member. Pat was the "Mom" of the group, keeping us in line (and in stitches), sharing pictures of grand and great-grandchildren and always showing a genuine interest in how my life was going.
Covid got in the way of those coffee breaks until the group discovered Pat's Porch (their own private, air conditioned and socially distanced coffee shop). I made it to a few of these as well but health issues (hers and mine) sometimes got in the way. Nevertheless, whether or not she was on the porch I think the ladies would all tell you her spirit was - as it always will be in our hearts and memories.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

We just learned that Pat is no longer with us. Someone so special can never be forgotten. We often remember the fun and laughter we shared with Ralph and Pat and Ted and Carol so many years ago. I left Aylmer in 1965 and on my infrequent visits I would always find Pat, Carol and others in the back corner of Clark's.
Gone but not forgotten - our sincere condolences to the family.

Uncle Ralph and Aunt Pat were always very special to everyone in the George and Mary Belle Johnston clan. This dynamic duo were the parents of four daughters named Barbara, Sandy, Dorothy Jean (DJ) and Lisa or as they were known in the family as Daughter 1,2,3 and 4. You could see in her daughters the influence both genetically and environmentally that Pat had on their girls. All four are bright, good looking, kind and have a great sense of humour (that was never mean spirited). A measure of the goodness of a persons’ soul is what they have left behind. Pat was a special person and her soul was made of gold. If Pat and I had both passed at the same time and we were standing in front of St. Peter at the pearly gates (and there was only room for one at that moment) I am certain that I would not need a coat where I was going.
Aunt Pat … you humble me and I love you. RIP
Larry Johnston

Dear Barbara,Sandra,DJ and Lisa.
I am so sorry to hear about Pat’s passing. She will always hold a special place in my heart. The “ Aging Aunties” and ALBC have lost another pioneer, but fun and loving memories live on forever.
I was so glad to was able yo have one more porch coffee with Pat this past July. I even kidded her about busting me for running a stop sign on my bike in front of her house as a kid. We were all so lucky to have such wonderful “ extra Moms” growing up in small town Aylmer.
Thinking of all of you during this very difficult time.

Pat has been a friend of mine for some 65 yrs. In our younger days, we met weekly for "a girls night out".
In later years, it was always at the grocery store. She was always her same cheerful self and would ask the same question of our younger days.
I will miss my friend.
