Obituary of Bernie Hobgood

Hobgood, Bernie Reagh of Aylmer passed away peacefully at his residence with family by his side on Saturday, October 9, 2021 in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Lesley (Marchant) Hobgood. Proud father of Michael (Julie) of Bay City Michigan, Christopher(Laura) of Richmond, Ontario and James(Josie) of Revelstoke British Columbia. Loving grandfather to Zachary, Ethan, Sarah, Alexander, Madeleine, William and Cecilia. Bernie loved all of his grandchildren unconditionally and considered them the great joys of his life. Brother-In-law  of Lew Boughner and Bill and Norma Marchant. Predeceased by his sister Blanche (Hobgood) Boughner. Bernie is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews , with whom he enjoyed spending countless  hours at family gatherings.  Born in Langton Ontario on June 21, 1940 son of the late Eugene and Clara (Mabee) Hobgood. A long time employee of Battery Supply, Bernie spent his days travelling from shop to shop to see his customers, many whom he considered good friends.  You could often find him early in the day at any of the local coffee shops, chatting with friends. He had a passion for baseball. Playing, coaching, and being a fan. That passion has been passed down to his kids, and grandkids.  Bernie was a member of Aylmer Baptist Church, serving on various committees over the years, being an usher and always being in the back and jingling his change. Bernie loved to travel, all over Canada and the United States usually to visit his grandchildren and family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
