Obituary of Barb Healy

Healy, Barbara passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, August 29, 2021 in her 70th year. Beloved wife of Ivan Healy for 53 years. Dear mother of Toni Sheils(Randy) of Springfield and Terry Healy(Natasha) of St. Thomas. Loving grandmother of Tyler, Robert(Kayleigh), Kelsie, Owen and great-grandmother of Tyson and Raya. Sister of Betty-Lou, Doug(Kay), Sharon(Brian), Sharrelyn(Ed), Ken, Brenda(Wayne), Jo-Ann(Allan), James, Sol(Ed). Sister-in-law of Bernice(Russell), Marjorie(Rob), Pat(Judy), Cindy, Joanne(Craig) and Carol. Predeceased by her sister Pat, in-laws Kenneth, Dorothy and Bob, brother-in-law Ron, sisters-in-law Lillian and Shirley.  Barb was born in Newmarket on March 26, 1952, daughter of the late Ernest and Colleen Thorpe. Barb worked at Northern Telecom. She was a resident of Dorchester, West Lorne and Belmont. Barb enjoyed many years of travelling, especially to see friends in Oklahoma. She enjoyed painting ceramics and woodcrafts. Her greatest joy was her family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations to Cancer Society would be appreciated.
