Obituary of Archie Ker
Ker, Archie Stanley of Aylmer passed away peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, April 3, 2021. He was 92. Beloved husband of Anne (Henderson) Ker for 44 years. Dear father of Barry Ker(Deb) of Aylmer, Tom Ker(Darla) of St. Thomas and Jill Underhill(Lewy) of Aylmer. Father-in-law of Cathy Ker of Aylmer. Step-father of Gerald Shackelton(Henni) of Brownsville, Susan Locke(Keith) of Talbotville, Karen VanLoon(John) London, Dennis Shackelton(Karen) London, Debbie Vansevenant(Gary) of Aylmer. Much loved grandpa to a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Bob Ker(2013), daughter Judith Ker(1967) and sister Marilyn Routly(2009). Born in Tillsonburg, Ontario on March 13, 1929, son of the late Stanley and Mary Edna (Cook) Ker. Archie was a mechanic and service manager at Larry MacDonald Chevrolet Buick GMC in Strathroy until retirement. He was a longstanding member of St. Paul's United Church. Archie was an avid hunter, fisherman, sportsman and founding member of Eaglelake Hunt Camp. He also enjoyed boating on Long Point Bay. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, friends and family who wish to attend the visitation at H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Monday April 5 starting at 1 p.m. may call 519-773-8400 to make an appointment. A private family funeral service will be held at H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. A livestream of the service will be available for anyone who wishes to attend remotely.
