I met Maria years ago when she would walk past my house and I invited her to rest and sit on my porch. She didn’t speak a lot of English and I don’t speak much Spanish but we managed to develop a friendship. Sometimes with the help of a Spanish/English dictionary. She was dedicated to her family and her faith and it was obvious that she loved deeply and was loved as deeply in return. She invited me to a family get-together and dinner and although I was a stranger to her family I was welcomed with open arms. Maria was a strong woman. A loving woman to both family and friends. My world, my existence, was blessed by having her as a friend and I will miss her smile and love and hugs. May the Goddess guide you to your rest and angels sing you to your peace.
