Sharon, Larry and Brian - I am so sorry to hear of Daisy’s passing. She was a wonderful friend and neighbour. I’m sure her and mom are having quite a reunion - getting caught up on all that has happened. They were best friends for about 70 years. I know how you will miss her.

My grandmother loved me fiercely. Her love was unconditional, her love was honest and authentic. Her love was present in all the Thanksgivings, Easter and Christmas meals she prepared for all of us...sometimes over 20 people sat around her table and we knew were we all so welcome. How did she do it, I ask now looking back? Her love also gave us wings to live our lives, the door always stayed open for a coffee, a meal and a visit. Her love was so genuine and her memory so bright. She always knew how to ask questions to get us talking and stay informed on our lives. I believe my grandmother past down her work ethic and maybe her longevity. My sons tell me I’m like her physically and that I will live forever...like she did. It’s time to celebrate her 101 years of life. I will miss you, my dear grandma Cole but you are in my heart and in my soul. I cherish having had you as part of my life for so long. Much love,
Sandra

I met Daisy when I was a rebellious 16 year old in love with her son. She and Irvin took me into their home, so did Sharon and Brian , and treated me like a family member. Just as well, as I was there a lot. Daisy became a second mother to me and I learned how to cook, clean, not slam doors and mostly the feeling of acceptance and loyalty. Her eyes , her smile her voice are deeply imprinted in me and have all of these years. Daisy, you are a true great woman and I am sad today as I reminisce about our time with you.
Sharon , Larry and Brian, you are blessed to have Daisy in your life for so many years as we all have.

A great grandma. There was a steady supply of Freshie and Weekly World News but the occasional visit to the dreaded chair when we got too cheeky. She had a Poodle who thought he was a Pit Bull and loved The Edge of Night. If something was funny she laughed. If she had a funny story she would tell it over and over again. She laughed at herself a lot. She kept almost getting caught in tornadoes. She once told me she had never even been in a phone booth. I enjoyed being around her.

Daisy was an active member of St. John's United Church for many years. She is remembered for all the Christmas crafts she and Edith Wilson so carefully created every year for the bazaar as well as her baked goods. Whenever I visited her at Terrace Lodge, she always asked what was happening at the church. A wonderful lady!
