Obituary of Maria Vanderweegen
Vanderweegen, Maria of St. Thomas and formerly of Aylmer passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, December 13, 2020 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Wilhelmus Vanderweegen (1968). Dear mother of Mary Spicer of Port Burwell, Harry Vanderweegen of St. Thomas, Margaret Wilson(Thomas) of London and Audrey Diamond (Bill) of Vancouver. Loved by her grandchildren Jenny, Julie, Jim, Bill, Jacynta, Dylan, Alexandra, Kelly, Liam and Chris. Great-grandmother of Ella, Iris, Jaran, Lleyton, Leo and Rosalena. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one sister, four brothers, son-in-law Allan Spicer and daughter-in-law Sharon. Born in s-Heerenhoek, The Netherlands on November 1, 1923, daughter of the late Cornelius and Maria (Theresia) deJonge. Maria came to Canada in 1957 and had been an employee of Spicer’s Bakery for fifteen years. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation-Burial, Queen of Peace Cemetery.
