Obituary of Alice Underhill
Underhill, Alice Anastasia passed away at her residence, Chartwell Home, Aylmer on Monday, December 7, 2020 in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Harvey Underhill(2006). Dear mother of Doug Shoup(Carey), Audrey Parker(Vaughan), Phillip Shoup, Nancy Nevill (Max), Lorna McLellan(Mike), Alan Shoup, Ruth Cleary(Dale) and Roy Shoup. Step-mother of Doreen Smith(Jim), Brenda Underhill, Marilyn Campbell(Ken), Beaver Underhill(Tammy), Leonard Underhill and Christina Underhill. Also survived by a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Herbert, grandson Ryan McLellan, granddaughter Shelley Shepherd and a number of brothers and sisters. Born in Willoughby Twp, Ontario on October 23, 1925, daughter of the late Herbert and Annie (Driscoll) Schneider. Alice was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, Catholic Women’s League, Port Burwell Legion and Ladies Auxiliary and Association. For many years, Alice worked for Amtelecom. She was active with East Elgin Support Services and Community Living Elgin. Alice was well known for her baking and creating goodie bags for family and friends. She loved to quilt and made baby blankets, bibs and hats for the hospital. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, friends and family who wish to attend the visitation may call the funeral home at 519-773-8400 (Masks are required). Visitation will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 starting at 1:30pm where the private family funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 1pm.
