Obituary of Anna Heinrichs

Anna Heinrichs (Banman) passed away peacefully on July 31, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind her daughters Amy Parkhill (Chris), Esther Peters, and her son Al Heinrichs (Barb). She was predeceased by her husband David Heinrichs, her parents Henry Banman and Anna (Klassen), and by her sister Helen Dyck. She will be remembered by her brothers Henry, Neil, John, Peter, Jake, and Frank Banman, as well as her many cousins, relatives and friends.

The legacy and memories she leaves us with are those of a devoted lover of God, and a woman who was always eager to lend a helping hand to someone who was struggling or in need. She provided words of encouragement and acts of kindness to those that needed it. Her heart seemed to have a capacity many times over her physical stature.

Born in Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Mexico on January 28, 1941, she moved to Ontario in 1962 as a bride after marrying the love of her life, David Heinrichs. With the birth of their three children, Anna became a loving mother, providing a nurturing home to come to at the end of our school days, with freshly baked bread or cookies greeting us when we walked in the door. In the various places we called home, whether in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, or even our year in Bolivia, Mom always did her best and worked with what she had to make our home tidy and welcoming.

When her husband passed away, it wasn’t long before she was drawn back to Southern Ontario and the small town of Aylmer where she and Dave had lived when each of their children were born. She felt at home surrounded by her brothers and their families, along with numerous relatives and friends. It was a community she belonged in.

Recently she connected with a nearby church (Aylmer Full Gospel), a place where she loved to worship and meet with fellow believers.
