With his family by his side Dave passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2020 in his 61st year after a brave battle with cancer. He was born in London, Ontario on July 9, 1959. He was the second of two children to Dorothy and Gerard Ferguson, both long-time residents of Aylmer, Ontario. Predeceased by his loving mother, Dorothy in 1999 and father, Gerard in 2012. Fondly and lovingly remembered by sister Brenda who kept him grounded in his faith through many rough patches in his life. Loving and proud father of Andrew (loving spouse of Danielle) Ferguson and Michael Ferguson.
Dave was very active in the Aylmer and surrounding community with Aylmer Baseball, Aylmer Minor Hockey, Aylmer Tennis Association, Aylmer Theatre and the St. Thomas Creative Writers Group. Dave wished to express his heartfelt gratitude and special thanks to his very dear friend Angela, as well as Irv and Laura Augustine and several other close friends who stood by and supported him through his illness and in the recent years.
Cremation has taken place. As per Dave’s wishes, there will be a family graveside service at the Aylmer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Community Living Elgin-Aylmer division or to the Dr. Faulds Parkwood Palliative Care Team.
