Laur, Grant Jackson of Aylmer passed away peacefully at his residence with his family by his side on Thursday, October 24, 2019 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Joyce(Ratcliffe) Laur for over 64 years. Proud dad of sons Gary(Joan), Jim(Ann), Randy(Heidi), Rob(Kim) all of Aylmer area and daughters Rosemary Ball(Bill), Gwenda McConnell(Todd) of Aylmer and Jackie Muller(Pete) of Dorchester. Dear brother of Marilyn Gillies(Bob) of Aylmer, Larry Laur of London. Brother-in-law of Ann Laur, Bruce Barham, Helen Siple(Raymond), Verna Jean McIntyre(late Bruce), Mildred Parkin(Fred) and Bill Ratcliffe(Judy). Son-in-law of Jannette Ratcliffe of Woodstock. Loving grandfather of Angela(Mike), Jeff(Talya), Jodi(Matt), Trevor, Brent(Tovah), Dennis, Natalie(Evan), Sam(Jamie), Sabrina(Ron), Stephanie(Brent), Bobby(Brittany), Jamie Lynn(Wally), Leslie(Anthony), Nicole, Katy, Bud(Kendall), Cory(Lindsay), Hilary, Tony and Krissy. Also survived by 26 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.  Predeceased by brothers Fred and Ralph Laur, a sister Myrna Barham, sister-in-law Betty Laur and great-grandsons Emmett and Jojo. Born in Malahide Township on June 26, 1934, son of the late Wynfred and Stella (Jackson) Laur(1993).  Grant was a dairy and cash crop farmer. He served on the Malahide Fire Department #2 for many years and was chief from 1991-1996.  Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm where the funeral service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 11:00 am. Interment, Springfield Cemetery. Donations to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Cancer Unit, St. John’s United Church, Springfield or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
