Christopher Murray posted a condolence

It is with great sadness today that we say goodbye to our Grandma Grace Connolly. She quickly passed early this morning after living at the Terrace Lodge for the last 4 years. She had a lived a full long life just celebrating her 86th birthday on June 21st. We enjoyed many special memories with her in our childhood and over those last years visiting often, and taking her on many outings.
Grace means “A Gift from God” and our Grandma was a loving mother and Grandma to all of us. She had several grandchildren including my brother Tyler and Jason, Wesley, and I, Joshua and Sarah, and our wives Jody Murray and Annie St.Pierre. She was blessed with Great grandchildren including Jerrica, Keelin, Taylor, Jaden, Madelyn and Helen. She also had Grandchildren from Donald’s children Barry, Dawn Elizabeth and Lori Anne.
Grace loved children and took care of many kids needing love and a good home with nutritious meals and clean clothes all during her involvement with the Children’s Aid. Grace also worked in home nursing for the Red Cross caring for those with illness and disabilities.
A true humanitarian with a huge heart for people and animals. She had kitties and puppies and pet birds too.
She never received much education but worked hard and learned her profession by caring for others.
My Gramm’s was married to my Grandpa Bill Nichols for many years having 5 children, Billy, Connie, Charles, Ron, and her oldest Ed.
She remarried years later to her sweetheart Donald Connolly. A gentle giant who was a Canadian military hero and hardworking man and they took very good care of each other. Grandpa Donald was so patient and treated us like gold.
We spent so many weekends out at their home in Jaffa and then where they finished their retirement at the Red Oak trailer park in Aylmer ON.Gramms enjoyed her butterscotch ice cream and loved flowers, her vegetable garden and was an amazing baker, cook, and the best home maker for her family and all the children that joined.
Grace enjoyed relaxing on a lawn chair with a cold iced tea admiring all of the little birds after working hard around her house and mini farm with chickens and ducks and Grandpa Donald’s pigeons that he use to race.
Grace was always knitting and sewing and doing crafts. She enjoyed a word search and would pride herself on her cursive writing.
Anyone that lived near Grace and Donald would always say what nice people they had for neighbours, as they were well liked in their quiet little communities over the years.
Grandma taught me manners and how to enjoy life simply and that family is forever. We would often giggle about how I would sit on her lap and watch cartoons with milk and cookies when I was a little boy.
She made a real effort to give us an amazing childhood and then shared her special kindness with our kids too.
You will be so missed and always in our best thoughts and memories.
Love Christopher
