Ted and I go back a long way. We pulled sticks for Bob Heslop and Dave McNeice, we worked the auction exchange in Tilsonburg and I had a great collection of fedoras thanks to Ted's endless hat tricks!
I was saddened to learn of his untimely passing and I extend my sincere condolences to his family.
Apologies for this late acknowledgement as I am out of the country.

Dear Joanne and family: on behalf of the Fahey brothers , Trevor and Gus, our wife’s and families;we extend sincerest condolences on the passing of a great teammate as members of the Tillsonburg Mavericks Junior Hockey team during the early 1960’s.
Ted was a delight to be around on and off the ice. He was a fierce competitor and a tremendous leader for all of us on the Mavericks. We all enjoyed Ted’s cheerful demeanour and his many stories on our bus trips which kept us relaxed even though we had important games to play. In retrospect, Ted was the guy whom we all looked up to as his love and passion for hockey and life in general
was passed on to all of us.
Great job Ted.
Sincerely, Gus Fahey

Dear Joanne & Family , On behalf of the surviving members of the Tillsonburg Maverick Junior B hockey club from 1959-63 I wish to say how saddened we are to see the loss of Ted. He was an unforgettable team mate, fiery competitor, and a helluva good hockey player . For certain stretches of his Junior career Ted was promoted from a very good Jr. B club here in Tillsonburg to play Junior A in both Hamilton and Guelph. He was a steady puck moving defenceman who at times could be moved to a forward spot when a goal was needed. In later years, Ted often drove some distance to visit and encourage many team mates from his Maverick days. So long "Chaucer" , we enjoyed your tales on the long bus rides to Sarnia and Goderich ! Dear: Joanne, Brent, Amy, Liam and Danica:
Josh, Kok and I want you to know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Ted was a very nice man, always friendly and a great guy to chat with. I really enjoyed talking sports with Ted as we would raz one another over his Packers who always would get the best of my Lions. My boys and I were fortunate to get to know Ted and Joanne since my boys had the privilege of being coached by Brent. Josh played hockey with Liam (Leeferd) and Kok and Dani (Kiddie kid) were teammates Kok still has the Payne Stuart golf hats Ted gave to him more than a few years back. My faith tells me Ted will be a very strong Angel watching over each and everyone of you. God Bless you Ted. Rest in Peace. Josh, Kris and Bob Vigars
