Obituary of Stephanie Steenbergen

Steenbergen, Stephanie passed away peacefully at Mary Bucke Caressant Care in St. Thomas on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of Martin Steenbergen (predeceased in 2005). Loving Mother of Everett and Audrey Steenbergen of Edmonton and their children Keith and Sarah, Mark and Christina (Grayson and Paige), Neil and Kim (Gavin and Jaelyn), Carla and Gord (Caleb, Finley, Liam, Cole); Bert and Ann Steenbergen of Aylmer and their children Kevin and Joanna (Oliver, Levi), Dave, Kim and Shawn (Kaiden); Arnie and Betty Steenbergen of Edmonton and their children Cheryl and Jason (Colden, Carter, Macy), Rick and Jamie (Seth, Owen), Lori and Warren (Eric, Danika), Karen; George and Marj Steenbergen of Aylmer and their children Crystal and Phil, Kalvin and Melanie, Jamie and Kate, Dennis, Carl; Ron and Colleen Steenbergen of Dorchester and their children Heather, Derek and Noah. Also survived by her sister Celia in Holland and sisters-in-law Meis (Rijk) and Corrie (Gerrit) of Holland and Katie in Chatham. Predeceased by her brothers Bertus (Corrie), Gerrit (Alie), Everett and Rijk and sister Wijmpje (Jan Noordegraaf) as well as two grandsons Jason and Gregg Steenbergen. Born in Barneveld, the Netherlands on November 22, 1921, daughter of the late Albertus Hooijer and Celia Evers Hooijer, Stephanie came to Canada in 1949. They first emigrated to Alberta and later to Aylmer, Ontario where she lived all her life and was a faithful member of the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church. She loved to play games with friends and family at home and during their time spent in Florida. Stephanie left a lasting impression on MANY during her long life! She is now with her husband and with her Lord and Saviour! Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday September 20, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Louis Bosma officiating.
