Obituary of Harry Terpstra

TERPSTRA, Adrianus (Harry) – It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Adrianus (Harry) Terpstra, who is at peace in the arms of God our Father.  He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, on July 13, 2018 in his 81^st year.  Beloved husband of 54 years to the recently passed Louisa Terpstra (Hoefnagels).  Dearest father of Charyn and Greg, Diane and Russell, Harry, Angela and Alex, and John and Jill.  Adored and cherished Opa to Sarah, Lauren, Bryanna, Jonathan, Ethan, Austin, Anthony, Zoe and Max.  Affectionately remembered by Katie, Ashley and Shane.  Brother to Nick, Thomas (late) and Linda, Case and Joyce, Leo and Henrica, Edith (late) and John (late), Rudy and Marianne, Trucy and Gerard, Mary and Andre, Joseph and Mary, Cathy and Adrian, and sister-in-law Joanne.  Brother-in-law to Leo (late) and Mary, Gertie, Tony and Katie (late), Morris and Willie, and Joe and Marg.  He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours.  Born in Assendelft, Holland on Sunday, September 26, 1937.  Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Catharina (Jak) Terpstra.  A funeral mass to celebrate his life will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, July, 24, 2018 at 10 a.m.  Cremation has taken place.    A private family interment will take place.  A heart felt thank you to the CCC, ER and ICU staff, to the LHIN and VON team, and to his two PSW’s Esther and Amy for all their wonderful care and support.  Donations to the VON Middlesex-Elgin Home Support Program would be kindly appreciated.
