Obituary of Dirk Dykxhoorn

Dykxhoorn, Dirk of R. R. #7 Tillsonburg, passed away peacefully at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Sunday, July 8, 2018.  He was 81. Beloved husband of Neeltje “Nelly”(Van Straten) Dykxhoorn.  Dear father of Janet and John Medema, Harold and Teresa Dykxhoorn, Nellie and John DeJong and Eric and Julie Dykxhoorn.  He will be missed by a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.   Brother of Margaret Bremer(late Harm), Jack and Hermina Dykxhoorn, Tina Dykxhoorn(late Louis) and Corrie Dykxhoorn(late Tony).  Born in the Netherlands on January 9, 1937, son of the late Dirk and Clasina (Vanderlugt) Dykxhoorn.  Dirk was a retired dairy farmer and enjoyed spending time in his garden.  For many years, Dirk donated fresh vegetables from his garden to the Tillsonburg Food bank. Visitation will be held at the Tillsonburg Christian Reformed Church on Tuesday from 6-9p.m.  The Funeral service will be held at the Tillsonburg Christian Reformed Church on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 1 p.m.  Donations to the Tillsonburg Food Bank or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.  Share memories or condolences at kebbelfuneralhome.com
