Obituary of Trudy Wiebenga

Wiebenga, Trudy of Aylmer was called home to be with her Heavenly Lord and Saviour on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the age of 75.  Dear wife of the late Bill Wiebenga(2017).  Loving mother of Dawn Lenane of Aylmer and Jeff Wiebenga(Nicole) of Aylmer and dear Nana to Jordyn Lenane.  Survived by siblings Nellie Buis, John Mantel(Johanne), Marg Flick(Ron), Pete Mantel(Marian) and cousin Ann Drenth(Chris). Sister-in-law to Sandra DenHarder(John) and John Wiebenga(Pam) and Eva Wiebenga.  She will be dearly missed by cousin Gonny Hoekstra(Ron) in Holland and her dear neighbour Marg Groot.  Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by brothers-in-law Richard Buis and Sam Wiebenga.

Born in Andijk, The Netherlands on January 7, 1943, daughter of the late John and Geertje (Wagenaar) Mantel.  Trudy worked alongside Bill for many years in real estate and on the farm.  She returned to school when she was 40 and obtained her Nursing diploma and genuinely enjoyed caring for others.  Upon retirement, she was active volunteering at Missions Thrift Store, Immanuel Christian School and the Christian Reformed Church.  She was a leader at Coffee Break and Friendship and gave back to her community through mat-making, serving at the St. Paul’s Tuesday lunches, helping with the journal at the school and reading with students.  Her lifelong mission was giving back to others and she enjoyed being surrounded by her friends and family.

Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9pm.  The funeral will take place at Aylmer Christian Reformed Church on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11am.  Donations to Immanuel Christian School or Aylmer Area Community Foundation would be appreciated.
