Obituary of Don Robinson

Robinson, Dr. Donald J. of Aylmer passed away at London Health Sciences Centre-University Hospital on June 11, 2018, in his 91^st year.  Beloved husband of Jean(Robb) Robinson and the late Helene (Mallett) Robinson (1987).  Dear father of Pamela Helene Townsend(James) of London, Jennifer Elaine Robinson of London, and Diane Elizabeth Rawlins(Michael) of Ilderton.  Loving grandfather of Alexandra Strong(Robert), Alison Sherlock(Morgan), Sarah Townsend, Jennifer Rawlins and Elise O’Hara(Allen).  Proud great-grandpa of Declan James Strong.  Kind uncle of Eric Robinson and Erin Carty.  Brother-in-law of Joyce Robinson and Elaine Ullrich.  Predeceased by brother Murray Robinson and brother-in-law Walter Ullrich.  Born in London, Ontario on February 4, 1928, son of the late William D. and Edna L. (Woods) Robinson.  He was an Optometrist in Aylmer for 39 years.  Don was a proud and active member of the community.  He was a Past President of the Aylmer Optimist Club and a 60 year member, Past Master of Malahide Lodge #140, a Warden and Parishioner for many years of Trinity Anglican Church and served on the board of the Aylmer Area Community Foundation.  Don was a past chair of Elgin-Middlesex CNIB, and was the first Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Elgin CCAC.  He was on the Fanshawe College Board of Governors-Community Outreach, and was Chairman of Aylmer Public School Board.  Don was a founding member of the Pleasant Valley Golf & Country Club. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, Aylmer on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 2:00p.m. Memorial donations to London Health Sciences Foundation Cardiac Program(TAVI), Aylmer Area Community Foundation or Trinity Anglican Church would be appreciated.
