Bill will be missed very much by his Friends and the mentors at the Friendship Group. He was a big presence there, loved to sing, clap to the music, and especially take part in the Christmas Program. He loved being a Wise Man, carrying the Star up high on a stick.
The first time I led a Friendship Lesson I came to Bill's turn for a prayer request. I didn't know Bill well yet. His request was "trucks!" I did not understand what he had said, but it was soon explained. We could always expect that Bill would want us to pray for trucks, tractors, fire trucks, big red fire trucks. I am told he loved anything that made a big noise.
We always knew what gift would please him at the gift exchange!
We know that Bill is now safe in the arms of Jesus.

I will always remember Bill as a man on the go. He liked to do and go and please don't get in his way . Bill made sure you knew his preferences in life, from what you wore to how you did your hair to whatever colour of shirt he wanted that week. He always liked to express his choices and stubbornly defended them. I will always treasure Bills laugh as he laughed whole heartedly and with his whole body , it was contagious, everyone laughed when Bill laughed. Bill loved to participate in life from gardening when every flower got watered including a few people if Bill had the hose. To bicycling , we got lots of exercise keeping up with him. Everything was done big with Bill and he always asked for the big truck and the big bouquet of flowers and the big pumpkin at Halloween and the biggest present at Christmas. Bill will be a big part of my memories and a special person in my heart. I will miss him. My heart goes out to his family whom Bill adored

I met Bill in 1999 when I worked at Troy village. On my first day of working I was sent to the grocery store with Bill. I was told that Bill did not like vegetable a. Once in the store Bill spent about a half hour in the the vegetable section asking questions about whatever caught his eye. We ended buying about 10 different fruits and veggies. After shopping we loaded all the groceries and Bill into the white van. When I tried to start the van it was dead. Not even knowing the phone # of Bills apartment, his sister Annie drove by and recognized the van and came back to rescue Bill and I. Bill showed me his sense of humor and his friendly sister. It was a very warm welcome to Aylmer cle. My condolences to the family and staff who lovingly cared for Bill. Bill was a great man to assist in caring for him. He pulled no punches but showed his wonderful humor and love. He will never be forgotten but will be missed.
