Obituary of Andy Hiemstra

Hiemstra, peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Andy Hiemstra A.I.F.D.of Aylmer went to be with his Lord and Saviour. In his 73rd year. Beloved husband for 48 years of Minnie (Helder) Hiemstra. Loving father of Wilfred (Trudy) , Raymond, Sharlene (Paul Beekman) and Monica (Dwayne DeVries). Greatly loved grandfather of Ashley (Tyler Dygos), Tyler, Brandon, Chelsey, Selina, Bradley, Matthew, Darren, Andrea, Thomas, Jocelyn, Jared, Logan and Vincent. Predeceased by a son Jeffery (Debbie) 2011. Dearly missed by brothers Wytze (Janny), Andries, Jack (Dien), Theo (Ann) and John (Christine). Born in Haule, Friesland March 15, 1939 son of the late Auke and Margaret (Russchen) Hiemstra. Andy was an avid gardener, and was very thankful for the gifts that God gave him in floral design. His achievements include becoming a member of the American Institute of Floral Design. He was an active member of the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church and loved to sing in the choir. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church (corner South St.W. and Caverly Rd.) on Monday August 22, 2011 at 11:00 am. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
