Dear Baker Family, On behalf of Atlantic Canada, Hong Kong Veterans Commemorative Association, I extend my condolences on the recent loss of your father (Alfred Harold E29848). My dad (James Andrew Flanagan E30353) was also a member of the Royal Rifles of Canada and went to Hong Kong during WWII. Those men went through incredible odds to fight for our freedom... many came back scared, yet many lived full productive lives, had children and good careers. Many remembered the autocracies of that war but would not or could not talk about it and yet, thankfully some did share their diaries for the world to know what really happened. Again, my deepest sympathy. Respectfully, Emma (Emmie) Flanagan Regional Representative for Hong Kong Veterans Commemorative Association

Dear Gary and Robert, Please accept our sympathy on the loss of your father. Melanie and I were in to see him last week and he was very glad to see us. It was a short visit but fullfilling. May he rest in peace. Love Judi, grandchildren Jeremy and Melanie and great-granddaughter Taylor.
