Obituary of Ernest Studer

Studer, Our dear father Ernest Alois Studer passed away after a lengthy illness at Strathroy General Hospital on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Elfrieda Studer(Oberlin)(1988). Loving father of Ernest Studer Jr of St. Thomas, Anthony (Tony) Stder and his wife Sheila of Aylmer, Helen Liscumb and her husband Glenn of Ilderton. Ernest will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Mike(Heather) and Mark Studer; Christopher, Stephanie and Michael Liscumb; and numerous nieces and nephews in Switzerland. Predeceased by good friend June Manson, and by two brothers and three sisters in Switzerland.Ernest moved to Quebec Canada in the 40's as a cheese maker where he met Elfrieda. After moving to Ontario and working in a number of cheese plants he went to the University of Guelph and received his degree as a Milk Processor. He then worked for Steen's Dairy in Erin before purchasing Glover's Dairy in Aylmer, Ontario in 1962 where he enjoyed many long years. The name was eventually changed to Studer Dairy. Ernest was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. Public Visitation will he held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held on Saturday and interment will follow in the Queen of Peace Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
