Obituary of Vandendriessche Delores
VANDENDRIESSCHE, Delores (Moe) Susan (Powers) - of Port Bruce passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital due to complications from pneumonia. Delores was born December 25, 1931 to the late Phillip and Lena Powers of Orwell. Delores is survived by her husband of 25 years Fred Dean of Port Bruce. Loving mother of Diane (Ken) Lazenby (Vandendriessche) and step-mother of Cindy (Chuck) Irving (Dean) of St. Thomas. Proud Grandmother of Ryan (Kristen) Cook of Tavistock and Krista (Jason) Clifford (Cook) of Kincardine. Delighted Great Grandmother of Brianna and Avery Clifford and new addition Baby Cook coming May 30, 2011. Survived by brothers and sisters, Dorothy Littleproud (Powers) of British Columbia, Louiwellen (Wellie) White (Powers) of New Sarum, Don Powers of New Sarum, and Maxine Firby (Powers) of Aylmer. Predeceased by her late husband Joseph Vandendriessche (1977), brother Doug Powers (2004) and step-son Barry Dean (2008). Delores was an active member of the First United Church in St. Thomas. She also enjoyed volunteering for the local food bank. Delores loved spending time with her friends and enjoyed spending holidays with her family. Delores enjoyed spending her summers at her trailer in Port Glasglow. To respect Delores's wishes, there will be no visitation. Celebration of life to take place at First United Church in St. Thomas on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to be made to the Children's Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre as well as St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. We love you very much and will be sadly missed by all of your family and friends.
