Obituary of Luke Tenhor

Tenhor, peacefully with his family by his side at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Lucas "Luke" Tenhor of Aylmer in his 74th year. Devoted husband of 49 years to his beloved wife Nelda (Mulder) Tenhor. Cherished father of Grace Marie Hilda Benedict and husband Stephen of Mitchell and Cindy Rose Berkelmans of Aylmer. Loving grandfather of Rachael and Colbourne Benedict, Ryan and Staci Berkelmans. Dear brother of Betty Miedema, Henry Tenhoor and wife Norma Jean and Martin Tenhor and wife Carol. Special brother-in-law of William Mulder and wife Mavis and Fimke Bergsma and husband Evert. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Born in Friesland, the Netherlands on January 1, 1938 son of the late Melle and Rose (Klamer) Tenhoor. Luke owned and operated Aylmer Gas Fitters. He worked for Central Pipeline and grew tobacco for a number of years. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family service will be held. Donations to Terrace Lodge Auxiliary would be appreciated.
