Obituary of George Goeckler

Goeckler, at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, December 6, 2005. George Goeckler of R.R.#5, Aylmer in his 77th year. Beloved husband of Gertrude "Gertie" (Neukamm) Goeckler. Loving father of Edward Goeckler and wife Brenda of R.R.#5, Aylmer and Trudy Bunde and husband Jon of St. Thomas. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son Richard Goeckler(1975), sisters Christine Crosby and Katharina Schuster and a brother Michael Kremer. Born in Weisskirch Romania on July 21, 1929 son of the late George and Anna Goeckler. George came to Canada in 1948 and grew tobacco for many years. He was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church and served on church council. George was a member of the German Canadian Club. He was a fireman with Malahide Fire Dept.#2, he served on the tobacco board and coached Aylmer Minor Hockey. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. John�s Lutheran Church, Aylmer on Saturday, December 10, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery. Rev. Henriette Donner and Rev. Henry Schaper, officiating. Donations to the St. John�s Lutheran Church, St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation or the Cancer Society would be appreciated.
