Obituary of Freeman Parker

Parker, at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, October 15, 2010. Freeman E. Parker of Aylmer and formerly of Lyons in his 96th year. Husband of the late Florence (Clark) Parker(2002) and the late Thelma (Lunn) Parker (1945). Dear father of Gerald Parker and wife Catherine of Restoule and Janice Covill and husband Anthony of Surrey BC. Loving grandfather of Thor and Kyle Parker and fiancée Samantha Lacey. Brother of Stuart Parker. Born in Yarmouth Township on May 24, 1915 son of the late Morley and Ada (Freeman) Parker. Freeman was an active member of St. John's United Church, Springfield. He was an avid sportsman and a member of the Pleasant Valley Golf and Country Club and the Aylmer Curling Club. Freeman was a farmer and past president of the Elgin County Pork Producers, Elgin County Plowman's Assoc. and the Elgin County Jr. Farmers(1940). Freeman was a charter member of the Springfield Lions Club and a school board trustee. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 1:30 pm. Cremation to follow. Rev. Henry Marissen, officiating.
